FAQs
Q: What can I expect?
A: Our congregation comes from over 32 different nations and from various backgrounds, but we all gather in order to worship our Lord together. As Christians we believe the full purpose of our lives is to praise God. As we do so, we begin to recognize more and more that everything comes from God and to feel even more thankful and full of praise. When you come, you will hear and sing worship songs that are Christ-centered, preaching that is straight from the Word of God, and a fellowship that gathers to fulfill the commands of scripture to love, encourage, and build up one another for the work of ministry that God has for us (John 13:34-35; 1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Q: How can I get to the service?
A: Since we are located in central Athens, access to the church can happen via walking, taxi, bus, metro, and car. Parking can be difficult, so if you are bringing a car, please be aware of this. There is information listed above concerning the bus and metro lines for your reference. Finally, if you are planning on taking a taxi, we would recommend using the apps listed above to make sure that you are more likely to have a reputable driver.
Q: How is the parking?
A: As with the rest of Athens, parking can be a challenge. If you elect to bring your own car, please note that outside of August, parking can be very difficult. There is parking on almost all of the streets surrounding and leading to the church. There is a paid parking lot (9 Euros, cash) across Dafnomili Street from the church to be paid up front. As a caution, make sure to avoid parking in the spots marked with blue markings as these are residential spots where you could receive a ticket.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Come as you are!
Q: What other activities take place on a typical Sunday?
A: On most Sundays, we will have our church service - the doors open at 11:30am. During the service, we believe that one of the best ways that children learn what it means to worship God is by watching their parents/guardians and others within the church as they do so. With this in mind, children start with the entire congregation to worship and then during the sermon children go to Sunday School for their lesson. Immediately after the service, we have a time of fellowship in the Fellowship Hall directly across the street from the church. Also, after the service, we have a small study where we reflect on the sermon that was just preached.
