The Filipino Christian Fellowship in Athens (FCFA)

The Filipino Christian Fellowship in Athens (known as the FCFA) was founded on 27 September 1984, and is a large thriving ministry that has various meetings throughout the week, the largest of which is held on Saturday evenings at Achaias 19, Ambelokipi, Athens from 7:30 - 9:30 pm. Our aim and goal is to strengthen the faith of Filipinos in Athens and to have unity in spirit and in truth, and to practice stewardship regardless of our denominational background.
FCFA is comprised of various activities such as: worship, Bible study, choir rehearsal (we are part of the St. Andrew's International Choir), and evangelism through conducting Bible studies for our un-churched friends. One of the highlights of our activities is the annual weekend retreat where we can come all together in prayer, fellowship with God and one another without any disturbance from outside activities.
The FCFA is our spiritual school and training ground. We grow in faith through our pain, our fear, our struggle and our tears when we fail. However in the midst of doubts, fears and pains we do not stop there: "being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in us will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6).
So, we keep going and believing that Jesus is the true counterpart of our need. He stands with us against all opposition we encounter, he walks with us in every step we take, he gives us wisdom to every decision we make, he is strong when we are weak, he is full when we are empty. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory in Christ!
More than thirty seven years of laughter, arguments, tears, understanding, love and friendship, has broadened our ministry. We have prayer meetings on Thursday evenings, Bible studies in Tingguian dialect, a CARE group in Tagalog, a Moms in Prayer group in Tagalog, visiting the sick, sharing a message of comfort to the grieving, encouragement to the helpless and sharing the joy of birthdays and thanksgivings. God has led us to St. Andrew's International Church which is our home church here in Greece. It is also a great privilege for us to get involved in its different ministries as we experienced the joy of fellowshipping with one another in Christ regardless of our nationality.
